The Israel–Greece–Cyprus Alliance: Toward a Permanent Strategic Cooperation Platform in the Eastern Mediterranean
By: Gaston Saidman

The growing convergence between Israel, Greece, and Cyprus continues to establish itself as one of the most significant geopolitical and economic partnerships in the Eastern Mediterranean. In this context, the recent trilateral meeting held in Tel Aviv represented not only an important business and diplomatic gathering, but also highlighted the need for permanent coordination mechanisms capable of transforming shared interests into concrete and sustainable initiatives.

The First Israel–Greece–Cyprus Trilateral Meeting, held at the Brown Bobo Hotel in Tel Aviv, brought together more than 170 business leaders, diplomats, entrepreneurs, corporate representatives, government officials, and institutional stakeholders from the three countries. Among the distinguished participants were Gilad Shadmon, Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Regional Cooperation; Maia Solomou, Ambassador of Greece to Israel; Cornelius Cornelius, Ambassador of Cyprus to Israel; Yael Ravia-Tzadok, Deputy Director General for Economic Affairs at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and representatives from leading companies and regional organizations.

The event was organized with the objective of strengthening ties among Israel, Greece, and Cyprus while promoting new opportunities for cooperation in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, water resources, communications, technological innovation, trade, and security.
In parallel, the Israel–Greece–Cyprus Trilateral Networking Event, conceived as a pioneering initiative, focused on three strategic pillars of regional cooperation: Energy, Maritime Affairs, and Security. The participation of the Ambassadors of Greece and Cyprus as Guests of Honor reflected the high-level political commitment that accompanies this growing alliance.

Throughout the discussions, participants agreed that cooperation among the three countries has evolved far beyond traditional bilateral relations. Today, a shared vision is emerging—one aimed at building a regional framework of stability, innovation, and economic growth capable of addressing the geopolitical challenges and opportunities of the Eastern Mediterranean.
Ambassador Maia Solomou emphasized that the trilateral partnership has become an ambitious strategic alliance spanning multiple sectors and distinguished by its practical, structured, and results-oriented approach. Ambassador Cornelius Cornelius likewise underscored that cooperation among the three countries continues to expand into new areas of innovation, technology, and economic development, while simultaneously strengthening regional stability and people-to-people ties.
Gilad Shadmon, Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Regional Cooperation, highlighted that strong regional partnerships require a shared vision, mutual trust, and investment in future generations. As an example of this approach, he pointed to joint cybersecurity and digital technology initiatives supported by formal agreements among the relevant governmental authorities of Israel, Greece, and Cyprus.
Beyond the specific agreements and discussions, perhaps the most important conclusion of the gathering was the recognition that significant untapped potential remains to be unlocked through deeper coordination among governments, businesses, investors, academic institutions, and civil society organizations.
It is precisely within this context that the vision of a Trilateral Israel–Greece–Cyprus Lobby Platform, promoted by the Saidman Group, acquires particular significance.
The initiative is founded on the belief that strategic relations among the three countries have reached a level of maturity that calls for a permanent framework capable of articulating common interests, advancing joint initiatives, and creating stable channels of dialogue between the public and private sectors.
The proposed platform aims to become a leading hub for investment promotion, regional project development, energy cooperation, technological innovation, strategic security, maritime economy initiatives, and institutional representation before national and international stakeholders.
Its purpose extends beyond strengthening business relationships. It seeks to contribute to the development of a shared regional vision that will enable Israel, Greece, and Cyprus to act in a coordinated manner in response to the opportunities and challenges of the evolving Eastern Mediterranean landscape.
The recent trilateral gatherings clearly demonstrate that there is genuine political, economic, and business momentum behind this vision. The strong participation of entrepreneurs, government representatives, diplomats, and institutional leaders confirms that the trilateral alliance is no longer merely a diplomatic aspiration—it is a partnership actively taking shape.
The future Trilateral Lobby Platform of the Saidman Group aims to transform this momentum into a permanent mechanism for action, connecting interests, creating opportunities, and helping to consolidate one of the most promising strategic partnerships in the Eastern Mediterranean for decades to come.
