A business breakfast organized in partnership with Ashra and the Embassy of Argentina in Israel brought together around 40 Israeli companies interested in expanding their business activities in Argentina. The launch of a US$150 million export credit insurance facility represents a significant step toward revitalizing and deepening trade between the two countries.

Jerusalem — A New Chapter of Economic Opportunities

Economic relations between Israel and Argentina are entering a new phase marked by fresh opportunities. After more than two decades without Israeli export credit insurance activity in the Argentine market, the launch of a US$150 million insurance facility for export transactions marks an important milestone for Israeli companies seeking to enter, expand in, or invest in Argentina.

Against this backdrop, a business breakfast was held last week in collaboration with Ashra – The Israeli Foreign Trade Risks Insurance Company and the Embassy of the Republic of Argentina in Israel, bringing together approximately 40 Israeli companies interested in exploring new business and investment opportunities in the Argentine market.

The event was attended by His Excellency Shimon Axel Wahnish, Ambassador of Argentina to Israel, who participated alongside members of the Embassy’s team. The strong diplomatic and business presence reflected the growing interest in strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries and creating new channels for business development.

A New Landscape for Israeli Companies

The renewed availability of export credit insurance instruments provides an important tool for facilitating international transactions and mitigating the risks associated with foreign trade.

The new US$150 million facility could encourage more Israeli companies to consider Argentina as a market for their products, services, technologies, and solutions, while also opening the door to new investments and joint projects.

For the participating companies, the breakfast also provided an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the opportunities offered by the Argentine market, establish new contacts, and explore potential business partnerships.

The Role of Ashra and the Argentine Embassy

The event was supported by Ashra, the Israeli institution specializing in insurance against risks associated with international trade. Its role is particularly relevant in helping Israeli companies manage and support their international business operations.

The collaboration with the Embassy of Argentina in Israel, meanwhile, helped connect the Israeli business community with information, contacts, and opportunities related to the Argentine market.

The participation of Ambassador Shimon Axel Wahnish added a high-level institutional dimension to the event and reaffirmed the importance of economic and business ties within the broader bilateral relationship between Israel and Argentina.

Companies Sharing Their Experience

The program also featured presentations by Rivulis and Malbek Ventures, which shared their perspectives and experiences, enriching the exchange among participants.

The involvement of companies with experience in international markets provided concrete insight into both the opportunities and challenges Israeli companies face when developing business activities in Latin America.

Building a Bridge between Israel and Latin America

The event also highlighted the work of the Israel–Latin America Chamber of Commerce, whose mission is to connect people, companies, and opportunities while contributing to the strengthening of commercial ties between Israel and the countries of Latin America.

The Chamber extended its special thanks to Ashra for its warm and professional hospitality, to the Embassy of Argentina in Israel for its valuable collaboration, to Rivulis and Malbek Ventures for their presentations, and to all the companies and participants who took part in the event.

Beyond the business breakfast itself, the initiative reflects a broader trend: the growing interest among Israeli companies in Latin America and the search for new mechanisms capable of turning that interest into concrete trade transactions, investments, and joint projects.

With the reactivation of an export credit insurance instrument and the commitment of both institutional and private-sector stakeholders, Israel and Argentina now have a new opportunity to expand their economic cooperation and build a deeper, more dynamic business relationship.

For the Israel–Latin America Chamber of Commerce, the challenge will be to continue serving as a bridge between the two markets—connecting companies, business leaders, and institutions, and transforming existing opportunities into new success stories between Israel and Latin America.
